Investing Responsibly in Africa
Responsible investing is complementary to profitability. ECP fosters a culture of transparency and accountability. Our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Management System, which follows World Bank standards and International Finance Corporation (IFC) performance standards, provides guidance for our investment professionals as well as our portfolio companies. The core of our ESG approach can be found in our ESG Policy.
Encouraging African Development
ECP seeks to enable large-scale job creation and technical and managerial skills development, contributing to a stronger workforce across the continent. Infrastructure investments have also contributed to significant development impacts such as increased telecommunications connectivity and access to drinking water and electricity.
Combating Bribery and Corruption
ECP is committed to complying with all applicable laws and best corporate governance practices wherever we operate. ECP expects all employees to comply with both the letter and spirit of applicable law and governance codes.
ECP affirms that it will not pay any bribe or unlawful fee to encourage the performance of or compromise the integrity of a certain task, nor will ECP accept any payment, gift, or inducement from a third party intended to compromise our integrity. ECP requires the same high standards from its portfolio companies.
Any person who believes that an ECP staff member is involved in bribery and corruption is strongly encouraged to report their concerns to our Ethics Hotline located on the Contact page.
